It is nearly there.
It will be the first time I have been at the front of the Church speaking in many, many years . True, I have been up singing with a few others many times and maybe a few times reading from the Bible, but leading the intercessory prayer never in my memory.
I am very grateful for Martin L, who modified the piece I wrote for the newssheet for Sunday 8th. He was concerned that it would not be useful as a useful aid to prayer. This came as somewhat of a surprise as I thought I had pitched it at a simple level.
What I then realised is that 3 to 4 minute talk about the website for Sunday Oct the 8th , was in need of a complete rewrite, it needed a focus on people more than ideas. So I set out to prepare a powerpoint presentation to accompany the talk. I have never done a powerpoint presentation of any significance, just ones to see how it works.
In the talk I now have three imaginary people whose lives were changed and the part that the website had in the people’s story. They were changed by people , prayer and the Holy Spirit , with the website playing a part. I did not realise how long it would take to prepare! The three people were whittled down to two. We had to leave time for a sermon (:-)
